Best Earplugs for Concerts

Live music has been important to civilization since the beginnings of recorded history. Back in the sixth century, flutes and the Kithara were played in the Pythian Games in Greece. Think of it as the olympics but without Michael Phelps. Some historians point to the 18th century for the birth of the modern day music festival when the Three Choirs Festival brought masses of Rossini, Mozart, and Beethoven fans to the cathedrals spread throughout England. Other look at the Second Great Awakening when evangelists would travel to musical retreats known as “camp meetings” to spend all weekend camping out, bonding over prayers and hymns, and generally being a prototypical Woodstock hippie.
Flash forward to the twenty first century and live music festivals have become a staple of the entertainment industry. One of the first large, outdoor music festivals in the country was the Newport Jazz Festival. Iconic acts like Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Miles Davis performed at the music festival. Besides Newport Jazz Festival, the Monterey International Pop Festival is one of the most culturally significant festivals as it was the first ever “rock-festival”of it’s kind. You may have heard of some of the musicians who played the festival: Otis Redding, The Mamas and the Papas, The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Who. This is the festival where Hendrix famously set his guitar on fire mid performance. We’ve come a long way since the Pythian Games.
Since the 1960’s and Woodstock, the Music Festival has become a national phenomenon—whether it’s Coachella music festival, Ultra music festival, Firefly music festival, Tortuga music festival, Hangout music festival, or the notoriously made up Fyre music festival, there’s no denying that music festivals have become one of the most significant cultural events happening today.
For music fans, the best time to see a live show is during the summer. These summer shows are usually held outdoors with tents or roofed stages and host other attractions such as food, merchandise vending, dance, crafts, performance art, social active and, above everything else, these music festivals are very loud. Just how loud? Well the average concert is around a range of 98dB-110dB. Irreversible hearing damage can occur at 85dB.
One issue that has come up a lot with music festival fans is the issue of hearing damage. Spending all day listening to giant speakers can be rough on your ears and can cause lasting damage. No matter what music genre you are into, if you want to see music live you will have to find protection for your ears or risk life long damage. Many people have tried foam earplugs, as they will be available at a lot of music festivals. Maybe you’ve tried foam ear plugs before, but have you ever tried Hi-Fidelity earplugs? Foam earplugs are pretty aesthetically ugly, they poke out of your ears awkwardly. They can fall out a lot of the time when you’re not paying attention. And the worst part of foam earplugs is the distorted, muffled sound they give the music. You simply can’t hear the live music that well at a festival with foam earplugs—who wants to spend all of the money, time, and energy to go see their favorite performer only to stick some foam ear plugs in their ears and barley hear the music.
Luckily, there are Vibes Hi-Fidelity earplugs. Vibes Hi-Fidelity earplugs are reusable earplugs designed for sound quality. Traditional foam earplugs only decrease the volume of high frequency—or treble—sounds, but not low frequency sounds. Low frequency sounds would be the bass sounds. This creates an uneven, muddled sound. Vibes Hi-Fidelity earplugs lower the volume of all sound equally, from bass to treble, allowing you to hear live music clearly and smoothly, without damaging your ears. Vibes are also much more discreet than foam earplugs, which can awardly poke out of your ears. When you have a pair of Vibes in your ears, people won’t be able to notice at all. This makes Vibes Hi-Fidelity earplugs the best earplugs for music festivals.
People get nervous when it’s suggested to them that wearing earplugs at live music will save their hearing. It will ruin the music! or I like the music loud, that’s why I’m here. To be honest, at first glance this argument seems to make sense, one is paying a large sum of money to see live entertainment, and one perceives these ear plugs as decreasing the  enjoyment of the event. The trick is, earplugs actually increase people's enjoyment of the event. By lowering the volume of everything equally, you will hear less of the chattering crowd, less of the lower ends of the bass, and hear more of the music. Yes, that’s right. By wearing Vibes earplugs you will experience live music concerts in a more balanced, comfortable, and controlled fashion. Whether you are a music festival attendee, a musician, or even a casual fan vibes earplugs will be a perfect affordable fit for you.
If you’ve ever been to a festival without ear plugs, then you know the pain which can happen after a long weekend of music. Your ears will be ringing for days after the festival because you’ve just done permanent damage to your hearing. This isn’t just a long-term health problem, it’s pretty annoying in the moment if you have to get back to work on Monday after a long weekend festival. You won’t be able to focus on your work with the incessant ringing in yours. Vibes Hi-fidelity earplugs will make this transition from weekend festival to Monday morning work a lot better. They come in three sizes and a small carrying case so you won’t lose them and you can re-use them for the next summer festival you attend.
According to the World Health Organization, 440 million teens and young adults are at risk for hearing damage as a result of attending live entertainment events. So whether you are listening to EDM at Electric Daisy Carnival (the world renowned dance music festival) or country music at We Fest (the three day country music festival in Detroit Lakes, MN) be sure to wear Vibes hi-fi ear plugs to protect your hearing health and to better enjoy the live music.
